Routing Numbers
- What is a routing number?
A routing number is a nine-digit number that identifies each bank. There are two types of routing numbers in the USA:
- Wire routing number (international transfers)
- ACH or ABA routing number (for domestic bank-to-bank electronic transfer)
- Which routing number should I provide?
For USD transfers to the USA, MoneyMatch deposits the funds through domestic transfer (ACH Transfer/Direct Deposit) instead of Wire Transfers. For these payments, we can only accept ACH or ABA routing numbers, we cannot accept wire or any other routing numbers.
You may obtain this number from the recipient bank, and it is necessary for all USD transfers to the US via MoneyMatch. - Are all routing numbers the same?
Sometimes, banks might use the same routing number for ACH and Wire transfers, however, it is best to confirm with the recipient bank for the ACH or ABA Number.Generally, the recipient bank will publish the routing numbers online, so you may always find the routing number on your bank's website.
- What will happen if I provided the wrong routing number?
If the incorrect number is used the payment will not be lost, but will eventually bounce back to us, whereby we could either re-send it or refund. However, this may take time and can cause avoidable delays to your payment, so it's best to get the accurate information needed for your transfers on the first try!
